Who owns what on this site, the sources and tools we rely on, and the notices their owners ask us to show. We honour copyright, open-source licences and trademarks, and we expect our families and staff to do the same.
What we are, plainly
InternationalSchoolK12 is a brand, not a company: the School is operated by a private corporation registered in Ontario, Canada, which owns the platform, its content and its marks. It is not registered as a school in any country or state yet. Records and certificates show what your child achieved in this school; whether another school or country accepts them is their decision. Where the law does not allow an online school run with AI, families use it as tutoring.
Reach us by email at privacy@isk12.com, or through your family account once enrolled; the full legal name of the operator is in the enrolment terms and on every receipt.
Ownership and use of our material
© 2026 InternationalSchoolK12. All rights reserved. Copyright exists automatically in every country of the Berne Convention; the © notice states who holds it.
The lessons, practice items, illustrations, diagrams, narration, marking schemes, software and brand of InternationalSchoolK12 are the property of the School's operator, a private Ontario corporation and its licensors. Lesson text is written to published academic standards in our own words with AI assistance and is reviewed by people before it is published.
Families and students enrolled at InternationalSchoolK12 may use this material for that student's own learning under the enrolment terms. Copying, sharing, selling, scraping or using it to train a model is not allowed without written permission.
Work made on the platform by staff, contractors and students is the platform's under the agreements each person accepts. InternationalSchoolK12 uses a student's work to teach, mark and report to the family; it does not publish a student's work to promote the School without written permission, and never uses it to train an AI model.
Anyone who posts material here promises it is their own or free to use. InternationalSchoolK12 is not responsible for material a person posts in breach of that promise; it may remove any material and will make a reasonable attempt to remove material shown to infringe someone's rights.
Academic standards
Standards are referenced by their codes only; the summaries are our own. Their publishers ask us to show:

Sources consulted
Lessons are written in the School's own words to the standards above, with AI assistance, and checked by people. When a fact or definition is checked, it is checked against reputable public sources; the sources below are the ones our writing and review rules name. Nothing is copied from them into a lesson unless its licence allows and a credit line says so.
- Merriam-Webster dictionaries — Merriam-Webster, Incorporated · Consulted for definitions; not reproduced
- NASA — National Aeronautics and Space Administration · U.S. public domain (most material)
- NOAA — National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration · U.S. public domain (most material)
- USGS — U.S. Geological Survey · U.S. public domain (most material)

- U.S. National Archives — National Archives and Records Administration · Public domain and rights-stated collections
- Wikimedia Commons — Wikimedia Foundation and individual contributors · Per file: CC0, public domain, CC BY or CC BY-SA, credited where used
Pictures and clips in lessons are the School's own work or come from public-domain or openly licensed sources (CC0, public domain, CC BY, CC BY-SA). Where a licence asks for credit, the credit line is shown under the picture in the lesson.
When a lesson links to another website, it opens in a new tab and that site's own terms and privacy notice apply. We never show another site's pages inside ours or charge for them; sites whose terms do not allow use inside a paid product are linked only.
Linked only, never embedded: khanacademy.org, ck12.org, openstax.org, geogebra.org, desmos.com, commonlit.org, readworks.org, starfall.com, coreknowledge.org, and video sites.
Open-source tools we recommend
Lessons and projects may use free tools that families install themselves. Each is the work of its own authors under the licence shown; the School did not write them, does not distribute them, and is not endorsed by them. Each name is a trademark of its owner.
